Biography

Dr. Kottam received her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, India (1992-1998), and subsequently completed a rotating internship at Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad, India (1998-1999). She then received her residency training in Internal Medicine (2003-2007), as well as her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship training (2007-2010) at Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center. She served as the chief cardiology fellow during the third year of her fellowship training.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Kottam provides inpatient services in Harper Hospital, Detroit Receiving Hospital, Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. Outpatient adult cardiology consultative services are provided at the University Health Center and in the Rosa Parks Geriatrics Center of Excellence. Dr. Kottam is experienced in transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, exercise and pharmacological stress testing (echo, SPECT and PET) and cardiovascular computed tomographic angiography.
