Conferences

There is a formal and extensive curriculum for cardiology residents and for those who rotate through the cardiology services. In addition to Medical Grand Rounds, within the Division of Cardiology there are monthly Cardiology Grand Rounds and extensive teaching conferences in each of the focal areas of cardiology. In total, there are more than 250 teaching conferences within the Division of Cardiology each year.

Highlights include:

  • Cardiology Grand Rounds: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., second Thursday of each month, Kresge Auditorium. Local, and nationally recognized speakers present a formal talk on a current area of interest in cardiology.
  • Cardiac Catheterization Conference: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesdays, Kresge Auditorium.
  • Cardiothoracic Conference: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., meets a couple of times per month, 7 Brush Conference Room.
  • Important teaching conferences take place on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, in the 7 Brush Conference Room. Exceptions are Grand Rounds and conferences on Fridays at noon -- these include Journal Club, Echo Conference, case management conferences, board reviews, SAP’s, and EKG, research, nuclear, and CTA Conferences.
